I love to keep it simple with herbs.  One of the best ways to get to know them is to have them as an infusion. Generally speaking, an infusion is about 1oz of herb steeped in a quart of boiling water overnight. If infusions are too strong for you, a simple steep is best.

Tulsi is also known as holy basil.  There are many different and wonderful varieties.  I'm offering kapoor, which is my personal favorite.  For those of you not familiar with tulsi, think basil kinda meets clove.  There is something spicy about tulsi, it's really all it's own flavor.  Revered in the Ayurvedic tradition and known for helping us lead a long life. Tulsi is a supreme adaptogen, helping your body deal with stress wherever it needs it most.  It is soothing, calming and delicious. One of my favorites herbs, internally and externally, I could go on and on...

Stinging nettles!! Another one of my top favorites is the powerhouse herb! You can use the leaves, roots and seeds (I tend to use the leaves the most)! I like to think of it as the seaweed of the land.  A wonderful springtime herb to help replenish vitamins and minerals after a long winter.  This herb is generally safe, usually great for all including children and I always say pregnant mama's should drink as it helps build and nourish blood. Also well known to help with allergies as it helps the body regulate histamine production and is anti inflammatory. One of my favorites in tincture form and infusion because it tastes so good. Nettles are also great as a food, when spring leaves are cooked they no longer sting and kinda taste like spinach. Get to know this plant, if you don't already and if you harvest it, use gloves or be careful and try not to get stung...you've been warned. ;)

Raspberry leaf! Another one safe enough for children. Rich in vitamins a and c and loaded with trace minerals. I always say eat your weeds, or use them in tea.  Raspberry is a tenacious plant. If you've ever tried to weed them out of gardens, you know. I think when you ingest the tenacious ones you get some of those badass qualities. It strengthens immune function and well being. They are soothing for the stomach and intestines and great for the third trimester as a master uterine toner.  Also helps make rich breast milk and aids in returning the uterus back to normal.

All of the herbs are organic and sourced locally from the beautiful folks Zack Woods Herb Farm. I hope you all enjoy!

*Please note, I'm in the process of switching from bags to glass jars. I have a couple of different sized window bags, so yours might come in a slightly different kraft bag with a round window.  Same amount of tea, just trying to use all the bags.*
